Tammie Wylie is of Coast Salish and Danish ancestry. Bridging the two cultures within her work and life has enhanced Tammie’s opportunities for learning and developing in both Western Society and Aboriginal traditions. Tammie has a Masters degree in Leadership and Training and has 25 years experience in Aboriginal communities in the areas of education, training, organizational and community development. Tammie is also trained in addictions counseling, child and youth care, and business administration.
Tammie is currently on the management team for Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre, a large Urban Aboriginal organization that provides healthcare, Social Services, education, and training for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Additionally, Tammie has two consulting companies, Mother Earth Whispers and Shwuttsuli Consulting, both of which address issues resulting from trauma, addictions, and family violence as well as organizational development and employee retention including traditional teachings of our ancestors. As a hobby, Tammie also enjoys project management in real estate/construction.
